The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne is advertising a Research Assistant position. The fixed-term position is part of an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project (DP150100962) aimed at investigating the environmental impacts of construction in Australia through the development of a sophisticated hybrid environmental assessment model. The project will assist in identifying the most significant environmental impacts, critical areas for mitigation efforts and inform environmental policy and programs within the Australian construction industry. The project commenced in 2015 and is about to commence its final year. The Research Assistant’s role in the project is to assist in the finalisation of an environmental database of construction materials, conduct analysis of construction project case studies, and disseminate project findings. This will involve the production of reports, data sheets and website content. S/he will work closely with the lead Chief Investigator (CI) A/Prof. Robert Crawford and with CI Dr. AndrĂ© Stephan at The University of Melbourne and with CI A/Prof Thomas Wiedmann at UNSW Australia. The specific work days are flexible and will be discussed with shortlisted candidates at the time of interview. The University of Melbourne is a child safe organisation.
