Graphic Designer I Apply nowJob no:509633 Work type:Staff Full-Time Location:Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) Categories:Architecture/Construction/Planning, Communications/Public Relations/Marketing Department:60140000 - AG-ENTOMOLOGY AND NEMATOLOGY Classification Title: Graphic Designer 1 Job Description: + Produce various printed projects such as course materials, on-line education tools, books, manuals, brochures, and posters from concept to production, present final layouts to clients for approval; prepare artwork for print and electronic communications. + Prepare artwork for print and electronic communications. + Maintain orderly files and records of completed projects for future reprints, changes and/or modifications. + Ensure all artistic work follows correct branding while being inventive and imaginative in developing original and creative designs. + Build and maintain project management skills in order to set schedules, determine workload allocation, etc. + Any number of varying projects as requested and per customer specifications. + Design, development, and production of departmental displays, as well as design of displays for off campus outreach events, maintenance of displays and keeping displays current. + Create marketing/promotional material such as course brochures, t-shirts, logos and illustrations, as well as stickers, embroidered patches; signage and other graphic visuals for departmental use and promotion. + Photography of all incoming faculty, staff and students as well as group shots and other photographic duties as assigned, occasional video production in support of extension and distance education; meet with client(s) to develop story line, locations, staging, etc; shoot and edit video maintain equipment. + Other duties as needed by Department. Advertised Salary: 31,850.00 annually Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: + A demonstrated ability with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) + A strong attention to detail + Excellent print layout skills with a strong understanding of printing processes + Excellent and positive communication with faculty, students and other employees + The skills to develop creative ideas and guidance based on client direction and feedback + The ability to use the power of words, images and sounds in order to implement effective course and communication materials + Self-motivation and the ability work independently with others + The ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once, within short time frames and strict deadlines + Experience in videography (filming and editing) / Educational technology Special Instructions to Applicants: In order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter and resume.
